Reining is a competition designed in western riding for horses where the riders guide them through precise patterns, inclusive of manoeuvres such as circles, spins, and stops.

Stone River Ranch carefully look at proven ability, good confirmation, solid work ethic and versatile atheleticism when choosing pedigree options in their Reining breeding program. Stone River Ranch utilise bloodlines that work well together, producing high quality performance quarter horses with versatility and excellence in the competitive environment.​
....Training....
​
Stone River Ranch Reining horses start in a foaling program as soon as they hit the ground. They are handled and weaned with basics including halter, leading, tie, floating, wash/prep, rugging and hoof care at home on the ranch. From this stage Stone River Ranch utilise Foundation Horse Training (Chris & Melissa Gould at Crows Nest) for breaking, training and campaigning Futurity prospects.
